The SchemeIs Simple, Involving the Use of Smal Ballons Which Cary a Series of Horns Pointingin Various Directions, Each Horn Being Conected With a Super Sensitive Microphone; Each Microphone Is Conected By Its Wireto Earth. Where a Selective Switch and a Pairof Listening Phones Enable the Operator to Quickly Ascertain Which Microphone Is Being Actuated, and Thus Also From Exactly What Directionthe Enemy Aeeoplane Squadron Is Approaching. These Microphones Will Indicate the Approach of Aircraft Several Milles Away.
