Quick-Change Cargo Plane Serves as Army Ambulance

As a forerunner of its new aerial ambulance division now in process of development, the army medical corps recently demonstrated the C-39 airplane. Used primarily as a cargo plane, the large ship can be changed into an ambulance. plane in twenty minutes. It carries twelve cots, and the crew consists of a pilot, co-pilot, doctor, nurse and a radio operator.
