Stub Wing on "Pants" of Plane Carries Bombs or Food

Item

Racks on which small bombs can be hung, or food, water and ammunition can be carried to isolated troops, are mounted on stub wings projecting from the under-carriage of one of the new British military planes. The high-wing monoplane was especially designed for army cooperation work. One of its regular assignments is to spot enemy artillery. The Lysander plane is powered by a Mercury radial engine and has a top speed of 230 miles an Rour, with a range of 600 miles.
