Soldiers Cross Barbed Wire With Aid of Mat

Item

How to cross a barbed wire barricade without displacing it is one of the lessons taught recruits at Fort Custer, Mich. A spectal-mat, made of chicken wire interwoven with canvas, is unrolled across the barbed wire entanglement, covering the barbs and providing a pathway over which the detail may run.
