Bike Couriers Hurry Meals To Remote Defense Crews

Item

As most of the balloon barrage anchorages in the vicinity of London are located at points where it is impossible for crew members to do their own cooking, food is prepared at a central kitchen and transported to the men by cyclists. Meat, vegetables and sweets sufficient for a single crew are packed into a cubical box mounted over the small front wheel of the bicycle and delivered 2 to 10 miles away.
