Fitted to the middle of the bow, a short sight, somewhat similar to that used on rifles, is said to enable the archer to direct the arrows more accurately. It does not interfere with the use of the bow and is said to be especially helpful on long-distance "shots, as it aids in gauging the correct elevation to counteract the downward course of the arrow.
