POP BOTTLES filled with inflammable lig-
uids and fitted with automatic igniters
have been adopted by European armies as a
defensive weapon for combating enemy tank
attacks. Designed to be used in conjunction
with explosive hand grenades, the bottles
burst into flame on smashing into a solid
object. In the photograph reproduced below,
one of the fire grenades is shown just after
it struck a steel plate and burst into flames.
