long floating airports, which will
be spotted every 800 miles along an
air route between an East-Coast
American port and Great Britain,
has been announced by Pennsyl-
vania-Central Airlines. These air-
ports, designed by Edward R. Arm-
strong, of Philadelphia, Pa. (P.S.
M., Feb. '34, p. 26), will cost about
$10,000,000 each. By permitting
transatlantic freight and passenger
planes to refuel, they will make
possible larger payloads. It is ex-
pected that they will cut passenger
rates to six cents a mile,
