A TRAINING GUN SIGHT designed by the
American Optical Co. for the U. S. Navy
duplicates the famous Spitfire combat sight
at one-tenth the cost. A light at the bot-
tom of the sight tube projects sight rings on
a glass plate through which student sees his
target. The sight rings are projected from
film mounted between the light and lenses
that carry it to glass plate at the top. The
Navy is using the sight on laboratory train-
ers that simulate actual flying.
