Printed scarf bearing the "Rigeneratori d'Italia" [Renovators of Italy] inscription, joined with the half- bust portraits of Leopold II, Pio IX and Carlo Alberto, each one with their name underneath.
Under the three portraits, two hands shaking as a symbol of agreement and further more below a garland surrounding the crowns of the pope (at the centre), Savoia family (left hand side) and Granducato di Toscana (right hand side). From the garland the white and Yellow papal flag stands beside either the Savoia flag (on the left) and Granducato of Tuscany flag (on the left).
This whole composition is surrounded by decreasing frames, whose colors echo the Italian "tricolore" and the papal flag.
The whole composition means presenting the Lega Doganale Italiana, a customs joint venture promoted by pope Pio IX in 1847.
