Part of Plane Flies 3,000 Miles with Four-Ton Load of Bombs
Giant bombers, rolling off assembly lines in American factories, are being camouflaged and test flown for a possible long hop across the Atlantic to Great Britain where they will join the royal air force. One four-motored ship, built by Consolidated Aircraft Corporation and designated as B-24 by the United States army, is capable of carrying four tons of bombs more than 3,000 miles at a speed of 300 miles an hour.
