Constructed to withstand rough seas without capsizing, a new-type whaleboat craft to be used by the U. S. Army Quartermaster’s corps in the Panama Canal Zone, recently went through rigid tests. Twenty-six feet long and equipped with a 40-horsepower Diesel engine, the boat was designed by Arno Apel,racing pilot and flyer, built at a cost of $4,185 by Ventnor Bopt Works, near Atlantic City, N.
