Part of Flying Torpedo Is Directed at Target by Radio
Controlled by radio and flying under its own power, an aerial torpedo invented by Joha Hodgdon, an engineer at Mare Island Navy Yard, may introduce a new branch of aerial warfare. The torpedo, which operates on a gyroscope principle, could fly at 30,000 feet and dive at an enemy target, spraying its load of bombs over a wide area.
