Practice at saving airmen down at sea is part of the regular training of every army flier in Hawaiian territory. Most of their operations are over the ocean, and each man must know how to save himself or the other fellow. A rescue plane flies low above the men in the water and a rubber boat is dropped, which can be inflated with a gas bottle, The men then climb aboard and float until rescued.
