Outboard Motors Ferry a Tank on Pontoons

Item

Four outboard motors attached to pontoons gave the army oarsmen a boost in ferrying a tank across the Salt River on the Fort Knox reservation Tecently. The equipment used in the maneuver was constructed by the army engineers from parts of a regular-pontoon bridge and a section of a portable steel truss bridge.
