A SERIES of rigid laboratory “trials”
that test camouflage paints under con-
ditions simulating those that they will en-
counter in actual usage have been developed
by Army engineers at Fort Belvoir, Va.
Prime requisites in the paints that will be
used to hide military equipment from the
enemy on every front from Alaska to the
Aleutians are: durability, hiding power, re-
sistance to fire, and the ability to retain their
hues under extremes of heat and moisture.
Shown are some of the ingenious methods by
which paints are tested for these qualities.
